Community Medicine Department
The Community Medicine Department at Autonomous State Medical College, Kushinagar, focuses on public health, preventive medicine, and the promotion of community well-being. As an essential part of medical education, the department trains students to address health challenges at the population level, emphasizing disease prevention, health promotion, and the social determinants of health.
Our dedicated faculty members provide a holistic learning experience, combining theoretical knowledge with field-based training. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental health, nutrition, health policy, and health education. Students are encouraged to understand the health needs of diverse communities and to develop strategies for disease prevention and health promotion.
The department is equipped with advanced resources for public health research, data analysis, and community health initiatives. Students participate in field visits, health surveys, vaccination campaigns, and community-based projects, gaining hands-on experience in real-world public health settings.
Beyond teaching, we emphasize research in public health, encouraging students to explore areas like infectious disease control, maternal and child health, and health system management. The Community Medicine Department aims to equip future healthcare professionals with the skills and knowledge to improve health outcomes at the community and population levels, contributing to a healthier society.
