Paediatrics Department
The Paediatrics Department at Autonomous State Medical College, Kushinagar, is committed to the health and well-being of children, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of childhood diseases. The department provides medical students with a comprehensive understanding of pediatric healthcare, ranging from neonatal care to adolescent medicine, emphasizing a family-centered approach.
Our experienced faculty members are dedicated to delivering high-quality education through a balanced mix of theoretical instruction and practical training. The curriculum covers a wide range of topics, including growth and development, pediatric infectious diseases, nutrition, immunization, and management of common and rare childhood conditions. Students learn to conduct pediatric history taking, physical examinations, and to develop treatment plans that consider the unique physiological and emotional needs of children.
The department features modern facilities, including a pediatric ward, neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), and outpatient clinics, where students gain hands-on experience in managing pediatric patients under expert supervision. Bedside teaching, case discussions, and clinical rounds are integral parts of the training process.
In addition to clinical teaching, the department encourages research in pediatric medicine, enabling students to explore areas like child development, vaccines, and pediatric emergencies. The Paediatrics Department strives to prepare future pediatricians to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to children of all ages.
