General Surgery Department

The General Surgery Department at Autonomous State Medical College, Kushinagar, is dedicated to the education and training of students in the diagnosis and surgical management of a wide range of diseases and conditions. As a vital part of medical education, the department focuses on the fundamentals of surgery, preparing students for both elective and emergency surgical care.

Our experienced faculty members provide comprehensive education that integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on clinical training. The curriculum covers various aspects of general surgery, including abdominal surgery, trauma care, hernia repair, appendectomy, thyroid surgery, and gastrointestinal and colorectal surgeries. Students are trained in patient assessment, preoperative and postoperative care, and the principles of surgical techniques.

The department is equipped with state-of-the-art operating rooms, surgical wards, and simulation labs where students gain practical experience in performing surgical procedures, suturing techniques, and laparoscopic surgeries under expert supervision. Clinical rounds, case discussions, and hands-on workshops provide students with real-world experience in managing surgical patients.

Research and innovation are encouraged, with opportunities for students to engage in surgical research, exploring advancements in minimally invasive surgery, wound healing, and surgical technology. The General Surgery Department aims to prepare future surgeons with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to provide high-quality surgical care and improve patient outcomes.
