Ophthalmology Department

The Ophthalmology Department at Autonomous State Medical College, Kushinagar, is dedicated to the study, diagnosis, and treatment of eye disorders. As a crucial field in medical education, ophthalmology equips students with the knowledge and skills to manage a wide range of ocular conditions, from common vision problems to complex eye diseases.

Our experienced faculty members provide a well-rounded education that integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on clinical training. The curriculum covers essential topics such as cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors, retinal diseases, corneal conditions, and pediatric ophthalmology. Students are trained in the use of diagnostic tools like slit-lamp biomicroscopy, ophthalmoscopy, and tonometry, along with surgical techniques for conditions like cataract extraction and laser procedures.

The department is equipped with modern clinical facilities, including specialized eye clinics and operating rooms for ophthalmic surgeries. Students gain practical experience through patient consultations, vision testing, and assisting in ophthalmic procedures under expert supervision. Clinical rounds and case discussions help bridge theory with practice, ensuring students can confidently manage eye conditions.

Research and innovation are strongly encouraged, with students exploring new developments in areas like ocular imaging, eye surgery, and treatment of retinal disorders. The Ophthalmology Department is committed to training future ophthalmologists to provide comprehensive eye care and improve vision health in their communities.
